Healthy Study Foods

Are you looking for healthy study foods? If so then you have come to the right place! It can be so difficult finding something quick, easy and healthy to eat while your kids are studying.

Most quick food is bad for you and it can actually zap your energy. There is also the fact that fast food companies cleverly advertise their products to kids, which in turn puts pressure onto parents. It can be so difficult getting your children to eat healthy carrot sticks and an apple when Kentucky Fried Chicken is offering them mouth-watering chicken pieces!

So just how do you get your kids to eat healthy study foods?

A Little Encouragement Goes a Long Way
Children look up to their parents as role models. So what you do and what you eat will be followed by your children. This means that the first step to getting your kids to eat a healthy diet is to have one yourself. You will find that the earlier you introduce a healthier diet, the better.

Kids love sweet foods and it is important to realise that snacks are not bad for them. Their energy levels are much higher than ours and so they burn through twice as many calories.

The problem lies with sweet foods that give a quick spurt of energy but then cause a drop in energy levels and encourage mood swings. Fruit is sweet and it is healthy. Apple chunks, bananas and berries are often popular choices for children.

Another healthy snack is yoghurt. Yoghurts are low in fat and calories and they are sweet too. So a healthy yoghurt would make an excellent snack at any time of day.

Another healthy snack which many parents don’t even consider is raisins. Raisins are great for your children and they are incredibly sweet. You can purchase them in little packs which are ideal for your children to carry around with them.

If your kids prefer something a little more savoury then vegetables can be a good choice. A small vegetable platter is often a great idea. Carrots, cucumber and tomatoes are all popular with kids. This is especially the case if you add a few cubes of cheese too.

The main thing is to encourage them to eat healthier. In order to do that properly you have to eat healthier yourself. So let your kids see you eating healthy snacks in front of them. Don’t just prepare the snacks, eat them too. If they see you taking part then they won’t see a problem with it.

Leanne Ely has a great book on the subject of  that you can sit down and share with your kids. You might want to check it out. Any tool the will help your kids eat better and establish good healthy eating habits is priceless.

Overall getting your kids to eat healthily can be a real struggle. However, if you are persistent and if you eat the foods yourself then you will have a better chance. It can be hard competing with Kentucky Fried Chicken or Burger King, but it is possible to find healthy study foods that your children can enjoy.
