When I first heard of,
Diet-to-Go all that went through my mind was, “oh great, now we can have our cardboard food on the run.” Little did I know how wrong I was on one hand and how right I was on the other.
It is constantly pressed upon us how important it is to live a healthy nutritious lifestyle, sure we know that a burger and fries is not a preferred eating plan, but if I spent the hours needed to study and prepare a meal following all of the rules established by the American Dietetic Association how in the world would I have the time left over to exercise, which mind you, we are also told is essential for healthy living.
I am at work all day; I have things to do when I get home, places to go and people to see. I care about my health, it is in my plan to live hard for as long as I can and keep on keeping on when the other folks in the nursing home are too slow to beat me to the remote control for the television.
I want to live long enough to be a problem to my children. So I guess to achieve my goals I needed to evaluate my diet to keep enough fuel in the tank. So I braved the Diet-to-Godiet program, if cardboard food could do this for me It might even be worth it.
I found that I was so wrong about the cardboard food. The food from
Diet-to-Go made my taste buds get up and dance. I went from instant noodles and fried chicken from the corner in my pre diet days to penne pasta with turkey meat sauce and oriental chicken with sesame rice from Diet-to-Go.
Even breakfast became a routine I started to look forward to; on a Wednesday I woke up to Blueberry pancakes and had a cinnamon raisin bagel on a Thursday.
I was also surprised to find that I was given a choice of plans to suit me. I had a friend who commented on my improved shape and new energy. I could not tell a lie and make out that I had been working hard for the results so I recommended ,Diet-to-Go she is a vegetarian herself and was really surprised to find that they have a vegetarian plan also. She has been one happy girl realizing that finally someone understands what a vegetarian meal is, and even caters for her needs.
There is no argument that the food was good. I do admit to feeling a little bit funny that someone else was taking care of me, and I might add, doing a better job of it than I ever did.
A part of my reasoning to try a Diet was to trim down a little of my excess weight and keep fit, having to prepare my own meals instead of eating fast food was something I expected to have to do. Realizing that they did this for me as well made me feel like I was cheating, or being lazy. Out of some strange sense of guilt I took up an exercise program, I had to feel like I was doing something for myself.
To make matters worse, Diet-to-Go delivers my meals right to my door! Even this is optional. They allow me to pick up my meals if I want.
In fact, it seems that everything is optional. If I don’t want breakfast I can simply alter my plan to one that suits me.
Diet-to-Go puts the “fast” in a healthy eating plan, is easy on the budget and generous with the options available
